Pharmacy Education in Rajasthan

Introduction

Pharmaceutical industry has flourished by leap and bound in the state over the recent years. With this, there has been a steep increase in job opportunities for pharmaceutical professionals. Many multinational and national companies related to beauty products and drugs have set up their manufacturing units in the state as the state government is encouraging investment and making the infrastructure suitable for industrial growth. This has been the reason for a large number of students opting for career in pharmacy.

Accordingly, pharmacy education in the state has been enjoying good infrastructure for the last few years. Number of institutions has come up here to produce competent pharmaceutical professionals.

Eligibility

Candidates who have passed 10+2 with physics and Chemistry as the main subjects along with any of Mathematics, Bio-Technology, Computer Science and Biology as the optional subjects can apply for
B. Pharm / D. Pharmacy courses.

Candidates who are appearing at the Qualifying Examination (Main) will be provisionally permitted to appear in Rajasthan Pre Entrance Test for Engineering, Architecture & Pharmacy (RPETEAP). Such candidates will be eligible, provided if they pass in the main Examination.

Entrance Test for admission

Rajasthan Technical University conducts common entrance exam for pharmacy, engineering and architecture. Rajasthan Pre Entrance Examination for Engineering, Architecture that is abbreviated as ‘RPETEAP’ is for undergraduate students who want to pursue career in pharmacy. Institutes affiliated to the RTU accept RPETEAP and give admission on the basis of their rank in the merit. The merit is prepared on the basis of the marks obtained by candidates in the test.
