Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University (JRNVU) was founded by Late Pt. Janardan Rai in 1937. In 1987, the Government of India granted it the status of Deemed-to-be-University. It was renamed as Rajasthan Vidyapeeth by Founder Pandit Janardan Rai Nagar.

Established in 1937, JRNRVU, Udaipur is one of the leading distance Education centers in the state of Rajasthan. It has been approved by Distance Education Council, DEC, New Delhi. National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has graded it with B++ grade.  It got the status of a deemed university in 1987 as recognized by UGC.

The University offers Certificate/ Diploma/ Bachelors and Masters courses. Degree and Post Degree courses are semester based.
