RPET Instructions for Candidates

Below are instructions to keep in mind for the RPET test.

Admit card

The admit card for admission to RPET will be availble on the web portal. No cards are sent to candidates. If you are given admission by mistake, the coordinator has the right to withdraw permission to appear for the test.

Exam scheme

The exam is a three-hour, 120-question test with objective multiple choice type questions. Negative marking is not used. Test questions are in Hindi and English. If any differences arise between versions, the English version prevails.

Unfair means

Using unfair means while taking the test is against the law, and can result in improsiment of up to three years and/or a fine of up to two thousand rupees. Unfair means includes taking the question paper and/or main copy of the answer sheet outside the test premises, tearing of the question paper, communication with anyone concerned with the exam in order to obtain marks earned before RPET results and communication with other candidates in the hall.

Exam instructions

You should report to the exam centre half an hour prior to the test, at 8:30 a.m. The test begins at 9 a.m., and candidates may not enter the hall after 9:30 a.m. You may not leave the exam until 12 p.m. Make sure to bring a black ball point pen for answering the paper. Do not bring calculators, mobiles or any other similar materials. Make sure to read all instructions before beginning the test. Do not write your name or other make other indications of it on the answer sheet. This is considered unfair means.

Duplicate copies of the admission card are available by a request in writing. Write to the centre superindent and submit two passport size photographs. Do not fold or staple your answer sheet, or use any whitener. Answers must also be marked correctly.
