Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University (JRNRVU), Udaipur was established in 1937 as a chief distance education centers in the state of Rajasthan. It has been approved by Distance Education Council, DEC, New Delhi, and it also has a B++ grade as per National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). In 1987, the University was accorded the status of a deemed university, recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC).
 
The University has three-tier system of evaluation and offers backlog facility so that every aspirant could complete his/her desire of higher education. Open University System (OUS) is available for the students of BA and B Com programs. Under OUS, the students who wish to seek admission in these programs but do not have the formal educational qualification, can pass a preparatory course to get admission for the above degrees.
 
Student who are graduates, can avail of Bridge Course Courses in the form of Certificate Programs in Maths (CPM) for 6 months and Certificate Program in Biology (CPB) for 6 months.
 
The University is also facilitating academic exchange of its students and faculty members to Slippery Rock University which is a prestigious University of USA.
